THE COMPANY

Due to a large increase in workload, a National main contractor is looking for an experienced Document Controller to join their busy commercial team working in Manchester City Centre. 


You will initially be working on a contract basis, however they are keen to support the right candidate making the role permanent depending on performance.

THE ROLE

As a Document Controller you will be working alongside Projects and Design Managers on a set construction retail account assisting them with the below duties. The role will be mainly based from the site, however some weeks you will be attending head office meetings with your colleagues.


  • Issuing of documents should be recorded in accordance with the design management procedures

  • Ensure the project team are working with the latest proposals

  • Liaise with external consultants on queries regarding issue of information and tracking down outstanding information

  • Maintain up to date record of all information and ensure that it is available to the team and issued out to the external consultants

  • Produce and oversee workload programs per project to track status and highlight delays

  • Update and issue fortnightly status reports based on line manager notation

  • Update and issue fortnightly client Key Event schedule based on fortnightly status report (above)

  • Familiarise themselves with project scope and details (Drawings)

  • Assist in cross checking project scope and details issued are in line with requirements and agreements

  • General Printing duties including ordering large scale drawings from external printers

  • Assist Shell Project Manager / Design Manager with populating Trackers & Schedules

  • Collate Handover folders and Hand over summary sheet

  • Collate PC files for Projects (Chasing, Downloading, Uploading, Printing and Filing)

ABOUT YOU

As the Document Controller, you will be highly motivated and be able to work in a busy, pressured environment and have proven experiences working to tight deadlines in a high specification environment. It is essential that you have construction experience, desirable is that you have some knowledge of the construction retail sector, Fast track fit-outs or refurbishments.

  • Basic knowledge of Planning and Management systems

  • Ability to work effectively in a team

  • Colour vision is required
